Fly High And Fail

Why We Should All Be a Little Bit SpaceX

Hi, it’s JasonI woke up this morning to the news that the latest SpaceX rocket test had ended in ‘failure’ and that it had disintegrated into flames. There’s an important lesson there for all of us, and it’s very front of mind for me this week as I embark on my own process of experimentation and evolution…

Telling, Not Selling

After months of intensive development, I'm thrilled to announce that Prime Performance Labs officially launches next week.

I could wax lyrical about the positioning and the features, but with this group it feels more appropriate to just speak straight from the heart on this occasion.

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster ride over the past few months. I’m bootstrapping everything  and the fact it's taken much longer than anticipated to get Prime Performance Labs to this stage means I’ve been burning through my savings.

However, based on where we are now, it’s all been worth it.

I’ve closed deals worth millions of dollars in my career, but I’m not a conventional sales guy. The constant throughout my life has been I’ve only been effective when I’ve truly believed in what I’m selling. If I don’t, I’m useless. I can’t fake it.

So the only thing I need to say here is that I truly believe that anyone who does the Prime Performance Program will improve their life for the better.

There is nothing more powerful than being able to look someone in the eye who wants to get better at life and tell them you can make that a reality.

So if you know anyone who would benefit from doing the Program, please send them my way. I can give you my word they’ll have a life-changing experience they'll thank you for.

Newsletter Changes

Starting next week, The Prime Movement newsletter as you know will be no more. This is partly based on the move to Prime Performance Labs, but more importantly it’s based on your feedback over the past couple of months.

As one subscriber summed it up: “I love how much value you pack into it, but it can also be overwhelming as a result.”

So, from June 4, we're splitting into two focused editions:

Prime Performance - My curated digest of the best new content on performance and wellbeing. Advice and insights on how to live better and lead better landing in your inbox every Wednesday.

Prime Perspective - My personal reflections and insights on leadership and growth. Delivered every Sunday, a natural time for reflection.

I know how time-poor you are, so expect these to be short, punchy and packed with value.

 Fly High And Fail

"This is the SpaceX way... We're going to learn and iterate, and iterate over and over again till we iron it out."

Jessie Anderson, senior engineering manager

That response to this morning’s SpaceX explosion perfectly captures something I've been reflecting on as we reach this pivotal moment for The Prime Movement and its evolution into Prime Performance Labs.

Growth requires experimentation. Evolution demands iteration. And sometimes, the biggest breakthroughs come from being willing to blow things up and start again.

This is where I’d urge all of you reading this to take agency over your life and take action - change can be scary and intimidating, but treating it as an experiment can be hugely beneficial for a number of reasons:

  • You go in looking to learn rather than expecting to succeed - this removes much of the self-imposed pressure

  • You can set a framework you’re comfortable with. For example: I will do X for Y days

  • You literally can’t fail - Any outcome provides data. Any result fuels self-discovery.

I know that each and every one of you will have been mulling some form of change in your life, but that first step can feel so overwhelming. Trust me, I know.

But the biggest killer is inaction. Standing still while life passes you by.

Pick the thing.

Set the framework.

And…

Learn and iterate, my friends. Learn and iterate.

There may be the occasional crash, but you’ll always end up flying higher than those stuck on the ground.

Jason
